Why do we like this?
Each time I review a track from Melbourne future-pop duo DEJA, I comment on the diversity of music they create. With their new single "Still Falling" just out, this pattern of musical versatility has continued.
While perhaps containing some of the elements contained in earlier release, "Luststruck," they've again made themselves known as a band of many talents. The lingering synth lines and male/female vocal interplay remain but they've included a more regimented percussion scheme. The result is a smooth, somewhat celestial sound which will no doubt appeal to Yeasayer or The Knife fans.
Their first release of 2013, it's a single off an upcoming EP due out later this year. To make things even sweeter, it's a free download on their SoundCloud.
