DEJA Split

Whenever I listen to a new release from electronic duo DEJA, life is made immediately better. The Melbourne-based team of haxx and Rromarin have released a number of standout singles over the past year, constantly impressing me (among many others) with their perfectly crafted electro pop. Having already supported the likes of Kimbra, Little Dragon, and Alpine, they are set to come into their own with the release of their debut EP, Make Light.

With the EP including a few old favorites (check out our coverage of their previous singles here), we can now focus on key single "Split." Rromarin's powerful, piercing vocals are superbly supported, with the production again top notch. Building quickly, the track ventures into a typically futuristic soundscape, full of resonating electronica and driven percussive elements. The EP itself runs from start to finish, with haxx carefully shaping the previously released singles into a record designed to listen to from cover-to-cover.
