Why do we like this?
Over the past three years, Melbourne electronic duo DEJA (Jack Arentz and Claire Rayner) have built up a reputation for their production and work with local artists. Also accomplished DJs, they've added their spin to tracks from the likes of Kimbra and Hermitude).
2012 has seen the release of two singles. While their first single "Atrophy" had an upbeat, frenzied feel to it, the recently released "Luststruck" sees a completely fresh angle from DEJA. What stands out about this song is the attention to detail; the delicate soundscapes engage beautifully, even when the song changes tempo. It's also got that slightly eerie undertone to it that bands like Massive Attack and the Knife have patented.
You can find their two singles and all their remixes on their SoundCloud.
