Why do we like this?
I featured Dehd's "Lucky" in November because it RULES and I was obsessed with it (still am). As mentioned in that review, Dehd is a trio from Chicago consisting of Jason Balla (NE-HI and Earring), Emily Kempf (Vail and Lala Lala), and Eric McGrady. Stylistically, I can hear the influence of NE-HI in their releases.
"Loner" is the lead single from upcoming album, Flower of Devotion, set to release this July 17th via Fire Talk Records. About the theme of the album, Kempf says, "It’s okay to be lighthearted in the face of despair." Following critically acclaimed, Water, I'm anticipating another impressive and emotionally-charged collection.
