I remember watching Deerhoof from the sidestage at this year's SXSW. Lead singer Satomi Matsuzaki may only be about 5ft tall, but holy crap did she have a lot of energy! To boot, the raw instrumental talent of each member was mind-boggling.
So, I'm not surprised that with their new track "The Trouble with Candyhands" they're trying all sorts of new things. It sorta sounds like Latin-infused electro-swing (yes, there's a lot of hyphenation there).
