Providence, Rhode Island-based rapper, Dee Gomes, joins forces with Manchester, New Hampshire's RCG Melo in a meeting of the North East's finest with his latest single "Life of the Party."
This community does not receive nearly enough recognition for its rap scene, but rappers from New England have some of the most talent than any other region in the country. Case in point: "Life of the Party." Recorded in Miami, Gomes says he and Melo were in South Florida "living our best lives, and once we heard the beat we just fed off each other’s energy."
That's on display in the Alex Sandoval music video, which was filmed in Rhode Island. The track is half myth-making and half party cut, at both times slyly adaptable while possessing a sneering and flickering spirit. It affirms Gomes as one of New England's great rap stars.
Peep this guy whenever he's touring or dropping new material. In the meantime, check out Gomes' 2018 project, True Colors, now streaming on Spotify.
