Why do we like this?
I'm so excited to share this band with you all! I was recently visiting Asheville, North Carolina, and attended a show where Decent Lovers were playing. I immediately thought that they deserved a lovely mention on this here blog.
Decent Lovers is the kind of band whose appeal spans across many demographics. As soon as I heard their music, I was intrigued and delighted. Their newest single, "2Star," is a dazzling example of why I felt such eagerness to share this band with you. Lead singer/guitarist/autoharp extraordinaire Elijah Wyman takes autoharp playing to a new, eccentric level, playing it just like you would a guitar... sort of. Either way, it definitely works in their favor as you can hear in "2Star."
This zany and obscure indie pop ballad has got all the fixins'. From a classic poppy beat to a punchy organ to a droned out bass to an unconventional autoharp, this song is a totally fun, super-charged rendition that you listen to when you're looking for a guaranteed pick-me-up.
After seeing Decent Lovers perform live and listening to their recordings, I'm really looking forward to their upcoming EP, MONO (release date TBA). I suggest you check back for any new Decent Lover tracks!
