Sounds like:
Pogo,
Major Lazer,
Salva
Why do we like this?
French artist slash producer Débruit describes his musical vision as: "AFRO-BEAT SURREALIST // SPACESHIP EARTH SPINE FUNK // SUNNY SYNTHETIC GROOVES// SYNTH MAGIC //."
Quite frankly, I couldn't designate more fitting adjectives to this groovy and otherworldly sound, where a perfect balance is struck between Zouk-inspired rhythms and seamless electronic production. I only wish I had discovered this music years ago so that I could have played it brazenly at family wedding after-parties.
If you are hungry for more of Débruit's sounds but prefer something less spicy, give his latest album (alongside Sudanese-born singer Alsarah Aljawal) a well-deserved purchase. Available from Soundway Records.
