Deathsport taps into a sense of youth that is both personal and vast, reminiscing on a time of cassette tapes, Toshiba headsets, and downhill skateboard races with "RUNNING IN CIRCLES."
"RUNNING IN CIRCLES" evoked a memory from my youth I had almost completely erased. It was me, a bunch of my friends, and the unabashed thrill of running through a mall—dodging bodies, weaving through shops—and all we had was each other. An objective of rebellious surrender to our emotions, with the mall music beaming over our ears.
"RUNNING IN CIRCLES" is a teen dream stuck in the now-aged millennial body. It’s a massive sound, a sunspot of the mind, and an electric beam of perseverance.
We all still run in circles, and we all get stuck, but sometimes those circles have a really great drum beat—and the occasional joy of just weaving through a crowd of self-doubt into success.
