Why do we like this?
Deathpsort seems to create songs that speak to me. I'm often the one at the table who believes that life is suffering, while everyone discusses their hopes and dreams. "Commuting" is a somber comment on our shared suffering and touches on the cause of said-suffering too.
It is, in my humble opinion, a poignant and profound song with lyrics that will stand the test of time.
"Commuting is a song about daily patterns we seem to just accept in modern society. A continuous loop of a repeating timeline that’s depressing but comforting at the same time. It's a song about our thoughts of wanting to break free from the chains of routine. However, we’re enjoying our comfort zone too much."
Though the lyrics speak to that which could easily make one sit up straight and alert, ready to do what it takes to step outside of being locked into relative reality, it can also just as easily get one dancing along to it, perfectly suited to lull us right back into it.
