Death Grips is certainly an acquired taste. Making sounds that sit somewhere between experimental hip-hop and heavy noise-rock, the Californian trio aren't ones to do things conventionally, causing controversy ever since their formation. Continuing to follow their own rules, Death Grips have managed to drop new tune "Birds" without any publicity or hype, catching the blogosphere with their pants down.
"Birds" is a harsh, dirty, dub-inspired stab of paranoia that's sure to appeal to Death Grips fans. It's the type of song I can imagine being used during interrogations at Guantanamo Bay to break prisoners. Stefan Burnett's cryptic lyrics are as brutal as ever, with the line "fuck this bird bitch, drink this bleach," just one example of his mental state.
Love them or hate them, Death Grips continue to have people talking.
