Why do we like this?
Deadboy just released his latest EP, Here, a highly recommended purchase. As part of the release, he decided to give away a free track, a disco-garage take on Bon Iver's "Woods."
True, it is a sample that's been used more than most, but I don't think anyone's come close to doing what Deadboy's done to it. When this was penned, or even when it was Kanye-d I don't imagine many people had any intention of dancing to it.
But now it's been Deadboy-d, and that means garage, although like the Here EP, this strays closer and closer to house in the process creating a potential dancefloor anthem, albeit one with a slight more melancholic feel than usual.
