I remember the first time I met Day Wave's Jackson Phillips.
It was backstage at New York City's Highline Ballroom. He had just wrapped a set as part of the his previous duo work as Carousel. He was buzzing with on-stage energy. Back then I was a relatively unknown writer for an obscure blog, but he chatted with me about music like I was someone much more important than I felt.
That's how inclusive he was, and he's always struck me as someone especially willing to engage with anyone about what he's doing.
And rightly so. This might be the best track yet from Day Wave. If you have any doubt about Jackson's talent, know that he played every instrument in this track.
