Why do we like this?

Okay so... I like Day Wave.  But I've got to admit: his chord progressions, tempo, and general demeanor mean that pretty much every song sounds the same.

"Gone" is the surf pop artist's latest offering, a track that comes across as only slightly different in that it has a minor key. Beyond that, the formula is almost identical to all prior releases...

So why am I posting it? Because I've got to admin: the formula is damned good. And as a standalone track, I have a feeling this one's going to sit quite well with peoples' ear drums.
