Why do we like this?

The vibe on this track takes me way back to ~2012, when everyone and their mother was doing deep house remixes of Daughter (here's one as an example).

I suppose the man I need to thank for this trip down memory lane is Julius Abel, who has done a really lovely remix of David O'Dowda's "The World Retreats."

The original version of the song was released way back in 2015, and sounds quite similar to this version. The main differentiator is the smooth deep-house rhythm, a welcome addition to the mix.
