Why do we like this?
Are there five words more magical than, "James Murphy remixed David Bowie?" Maybe "free concert tickets for life." But it's a close call, because when I think of innovative, mind-bowing, always thoughtful and ALWAYS danceable good freaking music, Bowie and Murphy are probably the two that come to mind.
Part of a special-edition, majorly expanded three-disc version of Bowie's most recent album, The Next Day, this "Love is Lost" remix shows Murphy at his disco-fever best -- an insistent, rapid-fire backbeat offsets a smattering of dirge-like piano. Bowie's vocals, distinctive as ever, are perfectly cold -- this is a dance track for the end of the world (and the best evidence yet that there's Life on Mars).
Prepare for hitting repeat after 10+ minutes of grooving. And let's just all get excited to hear from more from these two on the upcoming Arcade Fire album.
