I've posted two previous Darts tracks here. If you listen to them all, you'll notice one special thing: all three of these singles sound blissfully, refreshingly different from one another.
"Dead" is probably my favorite single so far. The coarsely screeched vocals emulate that classic Pixies panic, which we've more recently heard in acts like Modest Mouse. They're abrasive and brash, but so well contrasted against those kinda spooky female vocals.
The Melbourne five-piece is easily one of my favorite Australian bands around right now. They've taken a tried and tested sound, breathed new life into it, and have come out with something both familiar and fresh -- and that perfect balance is not easy to come by.
"Dead" also comes with a very cool video clip, which you can watch here.
Darts' latest LP Below Empty and Westward Bound is out now via Rice is Nice.
