I recently shared Darts' track "Westward Bound," and today I'm happy to share their brand new one, "Aeroplane."
The Melbourne five-piece have really started carving out a lovely niche for themselves. Basically, they’ve taken a sound that’s often quite overdone, and made it sound brand new.
While “Westward Bound” was frantic and punchy, “Aeroplane” steps it down a notch – and to be honest, I like this better. The guitar riffs are still distorted and crunching, but they’re softer and smoother, interaction beautifully with the great bass line and breathy, hopeful, somehow comforting vocals.
It’s great to see a totally different angle of sound within the one band, and I can only hope that there’s more to come.
Darts will be releasing their debut album, Below Empty and Westward Bound on May 15 via Rice is Nice
