Why do we like this?

Darondo represents San Francisco's funk and soul scene of the 70s. Terrel Wallace pays homage to his song "Sure Know How To Love Me" in this edit, aptly named "I Don't Want To Leave."

Chicago's Wallace, aka Tall Black Guy, is a regular re-worker and producer of jazz, soul and hip-hop. The artist has tackled Jackson 5, Malice & Mario Sweet and Coultrain among many others. In this mix, off Luv N' Haight Edit Series Vol.5,  he leaves Darondo's vocals in the backdrop, while flipping the soul to the forefront for a modern sensuality.

TBG is a winner of the Robert Glasper Remix competition and has been featured on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Bubblers Vol. 7, so don't be surprised when you like what you hear. To hear more, visit Wallace's SoundCloud.
