Sounds like: James Blake, Thom Yorke
Why do we like this?

It took all of three minutes for Melbourne singer/producer Danny Barwick to cement his status as one of my favorite artists of 2017. "Flickering," the debut single from Barwick's upcoming Distance EP, is so god damn moody and self-assured, leaning quite heavily into its James Blake and Thom Yorke influences.

But don't for a second think that Barwick isn't on to something unique and wholly his own here. "Flickering" is the kind of original record that we wait years for major label pop stars to release, even if it's stuffed inside some overblown concept album, or only available on the deluxe version of an LP. So, thank you, Danny Barwick, for delivering the goods. More, please.
