Really excited to see this single get a full release, as the snippet that came out a while back is too fresh. Nas and Damian Marley, following successful collaborations like "Road To Zion", have a full-length collab album coming out, with "Distant Relatives" dropping on April 20 (no coincidences there, I'm sure). The album is meant to raise awareness and money for Africa, but without descending into the land of preachy charity albums.
According to Marley, "A lot of charity albums come off corny. We want this to be something you'd play in your car." I definitely agree with him there, and from what I've heard of "Distant Relatives" it certainly sounds like Damian and Nas have succeeded. Here's the recently released full version of "As We Enter", capturing each MC in his element, and the previously released "Strong Will Continue", which I'm no so hot on, as in my opinion it has the same corny sound they were trying to avoid. But man, if you thought the roughly minute-long preview of "As We Enter" was fire, just wait for the full version. Exactly the quality you would expect from a collaboration of two such talented artists. Anyway, give em a listen, and keep watch for the album dropping on the high holiday - Squeegie
