Why do we like this?
Dakim lives in another world. The Detroit producer pulls from places many of us do not allow ourselves to reach or just are not able to. From dusty hip-hop to ethereal ambient and through experimental avant garde, Dakim is an artist on a journey.
Until a few years ago, that journey was fairly solitary. Dakim is a prolific producer, but unlike other eccentric workhorses, Dakim's discography did not match his production. Thanks to the good folks at Leaving Records and Insect Records, the last few years have seen a resurgence of Dak.
His most recent offering is 6F00F on Leaving Records. Not for the faint of heart or small of mind, the record is a trip! Check out the closing number, "Title Track."
