If Daisy the Great sounds familiar, it’s probably because you recognize them from their hit, “The Record Player Song.” However, this newer track is even more relaxing, and filled with chemistry from both members of the indie pop duo.
The delicate vocals and guitar strums lead me into a daydream. By the time the women hit the bridge, they’ve created a sound so plush that it floats around you like a cloud.
The Brooklyn-based band, made up of Kelley Nicole Dugan and Mina Walker, are well known for their soothing harmonies, and I'm happy to say this song is full of them. It’s hard not to notice how well their airy voices swirl together.
This charming little tune has a meditative feel. It’s great to turn on while unwinding with a glass of wine, reading a book on a rainy day, drifting off to sleep or whatever calms you down.
“To Be Alive” is from Daisy the Great’s new EP,Soft Songs.
