There are many popular bands that I, as a music snob, can't help but snub as a knee-jerk reaction. Daft Punk is not one of these, however. The robot affiliated duo is nothing short of genius, and is for sure one band that I will never be sad to hear on the radio.
Australian duo Cadillac has just covered Daft Punk's swanky, finger-snapper of a track
"Too Long." Moving away from the disco-house feel of the original, Hayden Luby and Antonio Pomponio - aka Cadillac - shortened the track from ten plus minutes to just over five.
Slowed down to an almost shoegaze dream state, the down under duo did a magnificent job with their version. It's slightly tropical, a little darker, and all around catchy. Cadillac's synth-pop frosting certainly did not hurt this track. Arm this with
Poolside's cover of Neil Diamond and you have yourself the start of a perfect day drinking playlist (you're welcome).
