Why do we like this?
I wanted to give the chaos behind Daft Punk's Random Access Memories some time to subside before I unleashed this dragon to all you electro-dance lovin' peeps.
Throughout the last few weeks, we've been sharing tracks off the album as well as remixes and covers by artists like Daughter and San Cisco. While I love me some Pharrell and Panda Bear, I have to say that Julian Casablancas' "Instant Crush" is easily one of my favorite tracks off of Random Access Memories. In spirit of my blatant devotion towards everything that Casablancas creates, I wanted to introduce an even more electro-infused version brought to us by N.Y.-based DJ Mischief.
Right from the start, you are thrown into a heavy expansion of sounds that builds and builds until around the 1:40-minute mark, where all shit breaks into a dance frenzy and gets a little cray. Let's just say you're gonna move, you're gonna sweat, and you're basically gonna break it down wherever you are, whether it be in your car, on the bus, in line at the grocery store or out chillin' with your grandma.
