I know we are all going crazy with Daft Punk madness as we anxiously await the release of Random Access Memories. Whether it's scrutinizing the authenticity of releases or waiting for surprise appearances at musical festivals, we are all caught up in the hype. And why not? It's been a long time coming.
This excitement has also carried over to producers and other musicians (See Daughter's cover of "Get Lucky" or Drop Out Orchestra's edit).
Today we are premiering another take on "Get Lucky" by our favorite Dallas producer, Neo-Safari. Neo-Safari has hopped in his DeLorean and taken "Get Lucky" straight back to 1997, making the track sound like it could have been a B-side from Homework. He minimized the vocals of Pharrell, and filled the track with some 70s-infused electric guitar care of some samples taken from Vanderway's edit -- all while managing to make the track hit just a little bit harder than the original. This is definitely a winner.
So until Random Access Memories drops, enjoy this time warp of a remix. Long live French house!
