Why do we like this?
Amazing! Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine The Royal Concept to attempt a cover of one my personal favorite Daft Punk songs, "Digital Love." It's definitely a bold move for sure, but with TRC's electronic sensibility and Phoenix-like qualities, it is match made in heaven for the Swedes to cover the French on this occasion.
It's certainly digital alright, with all that auto-tuning going on -- but it works brilliantly to complement the electronic synth rock cover that they were trying to achieve. It's refreshing to see that today's modern bands aren't forgetting about the legends of the game and covering some real classics for today's generation to become well acquainted with.
I believe The Royal Concept are still hard at work on their debut album, but we'll be sure to let you know when they're on the move!
