Why do we like this?
Living in a 30 person warehouse in San Francisco definitely gave producer D33J something to think about. Rising from the foggy mists of the so-called "art frat" community is an atmospheric tune called "Slow" off the album Gravel.
Kin to labelmate Shlohmo, D33J has made a chilled out, hazy masterpiece. With muted beats, lofi drums, and wandering vocals, there is a weight and loving seriousness to "Slow." It's the kind of track that stops you in your tracks, compelling immediate and deep reflection. Deep shit, indeed.
