Why do we like this?
With fashion sense that mimics a GQ spread and a unique sound that's gaining him notoriety as an independent artist, David Morris, the West Virginian known as D-Why, is making a strong case for popularity in the highly saturated hip-hop game.
"2,000 Miles" is a contemplative track off of his 2012-released project Don't Flatter Yourself, a 17-track mixtape that's available to the public as a free download. Pretty much every piece of music he has created has been at no cost to the listener, that is, other than our time. So far, many have been happy to trade this for D-Why's artistic perspective on style, success, the opposite sex, and, at times, the perplexing world which we live in.
This song in particular portrays his versatility as an artist, and showcases his ability to do more than just rap about his unmatched swagger (see "Machiatto Music" for more on that). Check out the visuals for "2,000 Miles," which like most D-Why videos, has a talented creative touch to it:
Download Don't Flatter Yourself, check out his dope videos on YouTube, and follow his current tour on Instagram at The Cleanest Corner. It's all good stuff.
