Our favorite friend-rock assemblage Cull is back with new music. After promising an EP last year, they've gone one better and turned their attention toward an album, which is due out in October.
Before we are able to sink our teeth into the full-length record, we've been given another teaser with a new single, "Truth Bomb." A touch more toned-back than some of their previous releases, it's just as interesting.
Cull has a beautiful talent of switching gears mid-song and taking off in a new, exciting direction, and that skill is on full show here. Fantastical vocals and instrumentaion turn quickly into heavy, deep guitar riffs, before the track drifts toward its finale in a haze of psych-rock brilliance.
Cull's debut album Aloft (which was recorded under a loft bed) is "an 11-song journey through love, loss and loft beds". Expect magnificence.
