Why do we like this?
A few months ago, I posted an energetic remix of Atlas Genius' "If So" by songwriter/producer Ron Flieger. This week, I'm happy to premiere Flieger's latest, a remix of Crystal Fighters' good-time indie spinner, "Wave."
Flieger retains Sebastian Pringle's instantly recognizable vocals for the track, but empowers the beat with additional instrumentation and uplifting percussion, somehow making a Crystal Fighters track even more danceable than the original. And that's the key to Flieger's remixes -- he takes good songs and makes them better, without losing the authenticity of the recorded version.
