Why do we like this?
I want to like this song so much. Really, I do. Unfortunately I just can't stop making comparisons to Crystal Fighters and Feed Me's "Love Is All I Got."
But, because I liked that song so much, I'm going to go ahead and give Crystal Fighters the benefit of the doubt. And really, their new song "Wave" isn't actually that bad.
Off the upcoming album Cave Rave (to be released May 27th), "Wave" retains the upbeat and high energy feel that comes as part of the Crystal Fighters package. Where it falls short for me is in the lead vocals: they're a bit nasally and borderline whiny.
If it weren't for that disagreement, this could easily be Song of the Day. But hey man, that's just, like, my opinion.
