Early this year UK duo, Crystal Bats, returned from a three year hiatus with the sparkling synth beauty "Anyone." While it was unknown what was to come, the lads haven't taken their time with a follow-up – thankfully. Their new single, "Killing Me," an absolute belter.
A slinky 80s throwback, "Killing Me" is the type of track I imagine soundtracking Miami Vice in its heyday. The funky baby-making bassline and snare-heavy percussion add to the sleek and nostalgic feel of the disco production. There's even a dash of pan pipes for Toto fans, with guest vocalist, Whinnie Williams, bringing a soulful quality to the tune.
Similar to "Anyone," the single artwork has a distinct Japanese feel, enriched by the pastel colors worn by the three on the cover – encapsulating the retro vibe Crystal Bats have going on.
Be sure to keep up to date with all the latest from Crystal Bats here, particularly the upcoming film clip for this track which is a must view.
