One of my favorite new Australian bands, Crepes, released a new track a couple of weeks back, but I've been stupidly slack with reviews recently and am only getting to it now.
That said, "Size of your Town" has probably been my favorite release of theirs to date, and I've been playing it continuously since I first listened to it.
The new track is another single lifted from their impressive debut EP Cold Summers, which has seen the five-piece begin to build a well-deserved reputation. Differentiating themselves from the legions of slacker rock bands with their impressive songwriting, the band has a classic catchiness to their music which cannot be denied. This skill gives them a huge advantage over other likeminded acts -- the ability to cut-through in a genre where so many cannot.
Crepes are excellent, one of those bands I'll always be keen to hear more from. You should listen to them.
