Back in October last year, we shared our (very positive) thoughts on "The Automation," the debut single from mysterious Melbourne band Covers. While they've finally set themselves up with a bit of an online profile, information on the three-piece is still scarce, other than the fact that they've just released a second single.
A bit more laid-back in its makeup, "North Star" still has that driving quality to it that was so evident on their earlier release. It's a track that builds throughout, with punchy percussion mixed with plenty of persistent synth and guitar. Plus, the booming vocals bring this one home in epic fashion -- this has stadium rock written all over it.
With the guys having spent the last few months building their own studio in Melbourne, you'd assume there's plenty on the way. Anonymity can only last so long with this much talent...
