Mexican Summer, the label that includes psychedelic artists like Allah-Las, Ariel Pink, and Connan Mockasin, has created a series titled "Looking Glass." It focuses on the "human condition as reflected through remote connection" and "serves as a portal for creative exploration and community, inspired by and beyond the present, to resonate through all versions of reality."
In this string of singles presented on Bandcamp, four artists are initiating Looking Glass: Connan Mockasin, Kikagaku Moyo, Matchess, and Sessa. All proceeds go straight to the artists or a charity of their choice. Sounds pretty great, right? Well, it gets even better. Further upcoming releases come from Angel Bat Dawid, Ariel Pink, Julie Byrne, The Green Child, Photay, and more.
Now to the single, Andrew VanWyngarden (of MGMT and of my teenage crushes) has remixed Connan Mockasin's "I Want Troll With You." It's groovy, funky, and its psychedelia is nostalgia-fueling.
