Why do we like this?

I quite often hear that bands find it "weird" to hear themselves compared to another band. And I can understand that: when a comparison is made, there's a clear implication that the sound lacks originality, which naturally can rub people the wrong way.

On that note, COMPNY's new song "Gently Let You Down" sounds a whole lot like Bombay Bicycle Club. And I have a feeling that that's the very reason that many of you will enjoy this. I know it's what did it for me.
