Why do we like this?

While Nobody's Smiling didn't quite bring Common back the way us longtime fans had been hoping, the album did produce "Kingdom," one of the years best hip-hop tracks.

Over a thunderous beat backed by an evangelical chorus, Common sounds urgent and passionate. The original track's sole guest was Vince Staples, but the recently remixed song brings the hip-hop Phantom of the Chakras into the fold, Jay Electronica.

Staples' verse is heartfelt and proves why he's one to watch, but Jay Electrolysis shuts it down with the final verse, galvanizing all over the track with an unorthodox pocket and of course, the requisite B.I.G. reference. Kingdom music forreal.
