Why do we like this?
Comanche's surrealistically titled debut album Silicon Basilica just got released by Astro Nautico, and it delivers a medley of disco-inspired jams. Not "nu" per say -- or at least, not the slick and viscous beats infiltrating the landscape these days (which, for the record, I support; all my children are different and beautiful in their own way!) -- but making similar references. Good, clean house music, one might say.
Certain elements of Comanche's sound harken back to the old days of Javelin (or maybe it's just the multifarious album art; actually it is that... and its vintage, chillwavey filter) or even some 2012 Teen Daze, but "Strider" is by far the poppiest of an album that is more complex than it first appears.
This music is fun! Music is fun!
Check them out on SoundCloud in between pelvic thrusts.
