Sounds like:
Wilco,
Bright Eyes
Why do we like this?
I guess I'm on a melancholy kick because I'm really enjoying new single "Virgin Veins" by Coma Cinema.
This track has an indie rock sound that originally formed the genre, which makes sense since Coma Cinema has been around since 2005. I always find it so refreshing when I hear a new song that stands the test of time, one with a resilient approach to not conform to the sub-genre fads that have engulfed the indie music world.
"Virgin Veins" is simple but beautifully heart-wrenching, with its acoustic guitar and bass and steady but slow drums it kind of reminds me of Bright Eyes or slow-paced Wilco tracks. The quivering vocals are the cherry on top to this lovely and classic indie rock song.
Luckily for you, if you're digging this track, you don't have to wait long for Coma Cinema's new album, Posthumous Release, drops on June 11!
