Why do we like this?

Former Wake Owl member Colyn Cameron has just released the first teaser from his upcoming debut album Sad & Easy, set for release this October.

"Loss For Words" is a 60s inspired pop heartbeat of gentle guitars and Cameron's soothingly subtle vocals. The breezy tune is accompanied by a film clip shot on 16mm film over the course of 24 hours as Cameron took a trip through Mojave desert town of Needles, California. On the clip and the song Cameron says:

This song is about being less serious with what might seem the saddest thing. Total misunderstanding with total simplicity and beauty.

Can you imagine feeding a cherry to someone in order to overcome hopelessness? My friend Robert thought it would be nice to drive to Needles, CA and all the while collect neglected fruits that could revive and surprise like the strangeness of Highway 40.

It's certainly an engaging listen and it will be interesting to see what Cameron's next single sounds like.

Sad & Easy is set for release October 12.
