Stockholm’s Colleagues burst onto the scene a few years back, gaining fans with their vibrant and poppy sound. “Talk It Out” sees the group stick to what they know best, producing three and a half minutes of catchy, synthy goodness.
Talking about their sound, Colleagues said:
“We wanted to re-create this feeling of floating away. Like the first time I went to a music festival, when I was 15. I bought a pack of smokes and walked towards the festival area, and I felt the greatest freedom I’ve ever felt.”
If it’s teenage days the band is trying to evoke, they’ve certainly succeeded. “Talk It Out” is an adolescent contradiction of a song, with their signature breezy pop sound overlaid with angsty lyrics reflecting on an imminently ending relationship.
The band is said to be hard at work on their debut album due next year, so some exciting times ahead for these fine Swedish exports.
