Australian electronic duo Collarbones (Travis Cook and Marcus Whale) are back with a fresh offering of their experimental R&B. Still based in Adelaide and Sydney (respectively), they've managed to piece together a follow up to last year's brilliant and quirky album Iconography. Die Young will be released in September, and they've just dropped the album's first single, giving listeners a taste of what to expect.
This new track, "Missing," sees them alter course slightly from their interestingly disjointed first album. Ridiculously smooth, soulful vocals from Whale drift over the top of tantalising synth and percussion lines. Despite the new direction, it still retains that eerie, haunting nature that Iconography had in spades. This is a seriously addictive track, a mix of the Weeknd's modern R&B combined with Gold Panda's intricate beat making.
These guys are going from strength to strength, and it'll be exciting to see what more they have in store on Die Young.
