Sydney/Adelaide electro-duo Collarbones (Travis Cook and Marcus Whale) have just released another track off their upcoming sophomore album
Die Young. Their debut LP
Iconography was brilliantly off-center, but their new tracks (check out
Die Young's first single "
Missing") seem to be tending towards a slightly more mainstream sound. This is far from a negative "“ with "Hypothermia" a perfect example.
Typically ice-cool in its make-up, "Hypothermia" is much more upbeat than their previous material, with plenty of audible UK-garage similarities. This track also includes the similarly eerie vocals of Sydney beatmaker Guerre, another member of the escalating ranks of Australian electro-schemers.
Collarbones have hit another one out of the park with "Hypothermia," just in time for the lead-up to their album launch on September 28.
