Coach Bombay is not just the name of Emilio Estevez's character in the much-loved Mighty Ducks franchise, it's also the moniker of Melbourne musician Terry Mann. Producing shiny pop music in his bedroom since 2009, Mann had already released two EPs prior to the completion of his full length album, Pops.
The album is fun, with the man himself stating "the inspiration is sunshine, happiness and delusions of grandeur. The message is positive." This gives you an idea of what to expect with one of the album's tracks, "Love." It's simple and playful in its makeup, with plenty of synth layers accompanying Mann's vocals (he's also assisted later in the track by fellow Melbourne artist Elle Young). If making you happy is his goal, he achieves this with ease.
Despite playing in a number of other bands, Mann is yet to play live as Coach Bombay. This is due to change next year, as he's been working with a group of five Melbourne musicians to put together a live show. Check out his other music on Bandcamp and SoundCloud.
