I've been enjoying River Tiber and Club Kuru, back to back, side by side, for the past week or so (meaning I repeat their tracks 20 times a day instead of 10 lately).
Club Kuru's latest offering is "Layla" from his Layla EP, out on Believe Recordings on November 27. The alternative electronic, R&B-influenced sound Club Kuru brings forward conveys some sort of glorious chaos. Distorted screams converge upon lingering synths while clean beats and melodic basslines weave in an out of what sounds like bowed guitars.
A myriad of interesting layers and sounds build, fall away, and build again to create a song that never stops evolving. The listener is constantly met with new ideas and sounds, yet the track still maintains a very strong storyline.
If you enjoyed "Layla" as much as I did, make sure to keep tabs on his Facebook page for that EP drop.
