Why do we like this?
Cloudeater made their Indie Shuffle about a year ago with "The Dive," an experimental rock record off of the band's Sun and Sidearm LP. At the time, I wrote about how Cloudeater's lead singer, Sam Dew, sounded a bit like Thom Yorke. Whether you agree with the Radiohead comparisons or not, I hope you find some time today to enjoy our premiere of Cloudeater's new single, "Smog."

"Smog" caught me off guard. This track is like a death march, with military-style drumming and these ominous synths that bellow up from deep underground. "And pretty soon I won't feel at all," Dew sings, seemingly resigned to the harsh realities of the life he's chosen. Cliche or not, I can't help but feel like I'm inhaling this track whenever I listen to it.

Big up for this one, Cloudeater. Fans can find more of the band's music here.
