Do you know what one of my favorite things in the world is? Hearing awesome new bands that are obviously huge fans of Radiohead, like myself. (Like Low Roar, for instance.)
I came across Cloud Castle Lake on SoundCloud, where they released their first track less than two weeks ago. Color me impressed.
This is a moody, atmospheric, off kilter, and largely structureless wall of sound that takes big time cues from "The National Anthem" and In Rainbows, along with nods to Thom Y's stunning falsetto.
The voice here is a man's, by the way. I was a bit caught off guard by this fact after my first listen. His name is Daniel McAuley.
The three-piece band is from Dublin, and from what I can gather, they've only played a handful of shows around Ireland and one in Canada. Personally, I can't wait to hear more! If Radiohead isn't producing much these days, someone's gotta fill the void, right?
