Why do we like this?
Singer/Songwriter Clairo has been around for a few years and her new album,Sling, is a nice change of pace for her and her sound. The brand of bedroom pop she came up with was great, but she has been going in a more folk-oriented direction, and "Amoeba" is no exception.
The instrumentation presented here is warm and quite nice, with Clairo's soft voice complementing it perfectly. The songwriting is executed well. The song has a groovy chorus but personal and emotive lyrics that showcase how far Clairo has come as a writer. Overall, on "Amoeba," Clairo perfectly captures the folk sound that she is going for with a song that is both unique and relaxing.
