Why do we like this?

City Calm Down has been floating around for a while, but they're finally hitting the big time. After signing to local legends I OH YOU, they dropped the immense "Rabbit Run," and now they're back with "Wandering."

This is one hell of a track. Opening on soft piano and the rich, rumbling vocals, the melody seems to relish each word, each chord -- the first 45 seconds or so feel like they've been stretched out to minutes. Soon, the drums kick in and the track builds, a hint of synth, a gently growing rhythm, a melody which starts to billow, one note at a time.

From the start of each verse, those repeated uphill climbs to the soaring chorus are just gloriously satisfying.

"Wandering" was released with a video clip directed by Timothy O'Keefe -- view that in full here.

City Calm Down will be releasing their debut album In A Restless House on November 6.
